FAQ's (FREQUENTLY ASKED ARTIST QUESTIONS)
How long have you been painting?
After pursuing art during my college years, I delved into a career as a graphic designer for over two decades. However, in 2021, I revisited painting and rediscovered my passion for it.
Why do you paint the way you paint?
During the lockdowns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, I found myself with ample time to relearn watercolor painting, a medium I once found challenging during my college years. Additionally, I’ve always been drawn to pen art. This combination allows me to express my creativity in a unique and satisfying way.
How many paintings do you make a year?
My artistic process involves multiple stages, including drawing, pen art, and painting. Throughout the course of 2-3 months, I typically produce a collection consisting of 20-30 pieces.
Why do you use watercolors?
For me, watercolors serve as a medium for setting the ambiance and conveying mood in my artwork. Unlike pen work, which demands meticulous attention to detail, I appreciate the fluidity and unpredictability of watercolors. I find joy in allowing the colors to flow naturally and create their own harmonious compositions.
What paper do you use?
I utilize archival watercolor paper to ensure the longevity and quality of my artwork.
How do you price your paintings?
My pricing structure takes into account various factors such as size, level of detailing, market demand, and the overall outcome of the piece. I believe this approach ensures fairness to both myself as the artist and my clients. Additionally, I regularly reassess and adjust my prices to reflect the evolving value of my work.
Do you do commissions?
Yes, I do accept commissions; however, I prefer to execute them in my signature style, incorporating both pen and watercolor techniques. While I’m open to exploring new subjects, I strive to maintain consistency with my existing themes and artistic vision. Collaborating with clients to capture the essence of their chosen subjects is always an enriching experience for me as an artist.
Do you offer workshops?
Currently, I do not offer workshops, but I’m always open to sharing my knowledge and insights with fellow art enthusiasts.
