About

Artist

In college, I delved into two passions: art and graphic design. The question lingered: which would prove more lucrative? Over two decades entrenched in the world of graphic design and commercial art, I found myself reuniting with an old love: painting.
My childhood was steeped in artistry, with encouragement echoing through the walls of my home. Drawing became second nature from a tender age, and the patience required for painting became a cherished trait during my school years. However, the advent of the computer age diverted my attention from the canvas to screens, leading me down the path of commercial artistry.
Then, amidst the upheaval of the Covid era, an unexpected opportunity emerged—the chance to reconnect with painting. With time on my side, I delved into experimentation, particularly with challenging mediums like watercolors, and revisited beloved techniques like pen art. As the pandemic provided a canvas of solitude, I cultivated a collection of 25 to 30 paintings, reigniting my journey as a painter.

Why the name 'Greyworks' has been chosen?

I have named the collection my paintings ‘Greyworks’ as grey is my favourite colour and I resonate deeply to it.

Grey is often associated with qualities of balance, neutrality, and sophistication. Its timeless allure lies in its ability to blend seamlessly with other colors, making it a versatile choice in various contexts. Grey exudes a sense of calm and tranquility, offering a soothing presence amidst the chaos of vibrant hues. It symbolizes practicality and reliability, evoking a sense of stability and dependability. Moreover, grey possesses an understated elegance that adds a touch of refinement to any setting. Its understated charm and adaptability make it a beloved choice for interior design, fashion, and art, embodying a harmonious blend of subtlety and strength.

Pen Art Technique

Pen art, also known as pen and ink drawing, is a versatile and expressive technique that involves creating artwork using various types of pens, ink, and paper.
One of the key elements of pen art is line work. Artists use lines to define shapes, create textures, and convey depth and dimension in their artwork. By varying the thickness, length, and direction of the lines, artists can achieve different visual effects and moods, from delicate and intricate to bold and expressive.
There are different pen art used by the artist; Pen and ink drawing techniques
  • Hatching. Hatching is considered one of the most basic pen and ink drawing techniques.
  • Cross-hatching. Cross-hatching is similar to regular hatching, except that the lines cross.
  • Contour.
  • Cross-contour.
  • Random lines.
  • Stippling.
  • Circular.
  • Thin and thick lines, playing a united melody with watercolours.

Water Colours

Watercolor painting is a captivating and versatile medium that has been cherished by artists for centuries. It involves using water-based pigments to create luminous and expressive artworks on paper, characterized by its transparent and translucent qualities.
One of the most enchanting aspects of watercolor painting is its fluidity and unpredictability. Unlike other mediums, where the artist has more control over the outcome, watercolor often involves allowing the pigments to flow and blend freely on the paper, resulting in spontaneous and organic effects.
The technique of watercolor painting involves building up layers of transparent washes to create depth, texture, and dimension in the artwork. Artists often use techniques such as wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and dry brushing to achieve different effects and textures.
One of the challenges of watercolor painting is mastering the balance between control and spontaneity. While it requires a certain level of skill and precision to manipulate the pigments and water on the paper, it also encourages artists to embrace the unpredictable nature of the medium and allow for happy accidents to occur.
